Cash shortage grounds Iranian airmail service 



    NICOSIA, Dec, 21 (Reuter) - Iran's post office, unable to pay its debt to
Iranian airlines, will stop accepting airmail letters and parcels from
Thursday, Iranian television said on Wednesday. 

    It said the debts mounted after the airlines switched to a less
favourable exchange rate in calculating their hard cash expenses and raised
their domestic delivery charges. 

    The report, monitored in Nicosia, did not say how much the post office
owed the airlines or whether incoming mail deliveries would also be affected.
